SunCYCLE

SunCYCLE batteries from Battery Energy were developed in 1990 as a premium vented battery for the solar / remote area power supply market. SunCYCLE incorporate all the features outlined by CSIRO as important in a study on solar battery optimisation. This includes ultra-thick flat plate grids, very high 120 H performance, special low antimony alloys and a large electrolyte reservoir in a clear thick walled case enabling the plates to be seen. Independent research has shown that flat plate products significantly outperform tubular plate products in this application.

SunCYCLE batteries have been in the market for 15 years and have gained an excellent reputation for performance and reliability.

SunCYCLE batteries, properly maintained, should deliver a working life well in excess of 10 years. Cycle life is consistent with design, with at least 5,000 cycles expected with the typical daily usage in a solar system. Improvements have continued in recent years with changes to the active material to ameliorate charging from the discharged state, a frequent problem with solar batteries.
