Energel
Batteries from Battery Energy using revolutionary SuperGel
long life plate technology have been designed specifically for standby
applications. The Energel Battery is designed for low maintenance
standby applications where it is kept on a float charge and is ready
for instantaneous use whenever there is a power system failure.
Traditional battery technology, which was developed in Europe and
North America, operates most efficiently in colder climates. Industry
practice is to halve the stated design life of a battery with every
10º C increase in average operating temperature. These technologies
are not necessarily suited to warmer climatic environments.

When the CSIRO and
Battery Energy developed Supergel technology, they focused on
developing a product with superior life characteristics. The
SuperGel battery technology is based on unique chemical and
molecular characteristics and differentiated production techniques
compared to regular gel batteries. This is characterised by
features such as very low float currents, high efficiencies
etc. |
The superior life characteristics apply both to the performance
of the battery under varying extreme climatic conditions and it’s
robust construction that allows it to withstand both electrical
abuse as well as vibration and physical abuse during transport,
installation and operation.
Standby applications usually support mission critical services
or critical elements of revenue generating technology. To deliver
a highly reliable service with a long operating life requires a
unique blend of physical, structural and chemical characteristics.
For this reason Energel is possibly the worlds leading standby
battery.
